[edit] Land Record
[edit] NotesHenry Huffman supposedly married first to Elizabeth Blankenbaker. On December 15, 1794, a marriage bond was issued in Madison County, VA for Henry HUFFMAN to marry Ann MILLER. Presumably Henry was the son of the 1714 Germanna immigrant John HOFFMAN. Henry Huffman family bought 225 acres of land from Jacob Holtzclaw, my ancestor. This land was part of the 1300 acres that Jacob Holtzclaw owned on Indian Run that Perry took me to. He sold parts of it to Henry Huffman, Harman Back, John and Frederick Fishback (the sons of Jacob and Catherine (Holdinghaus) Fishback) and John and Katherine Jung/Young, the infant children of John and Mary (Baeumer) Jung/Young. John Jung/Young is the son of Johann and Anna Katherina (Holzklau) Jung, the sister of Jacob Holtzclaw. Henry Huffman was born on May 25th, 1742. Also, Elizabeth's family name was not Blankenbaker, but Blankenbüchler. Her father's name was Baltz Blankenbüchler and I believe her mother's name was Anna Margarette. This info is taken from the HUFFMAN family bible entries written by Johannes HUFFMAN, who was born in 1692 in Siegen, Germany. The old boy had two wives, the first being Anna Catherine JÜGER, who he married on November 7th, 1721. She died February 9th, 1729 after giving birth to a son who was stillborn. His second wife was Nancy Sabina FOLG, and they were married July 13th, 1729.
