Harvey Gauthier, 95, of 1118 St. James Ave., a 20-year employee of the former Springfield Armory, died Sunday at an area nursing home. He also worked for Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies Corp. in Windsor Locks and retired in 1969. Born here, he was a lifelong resident and a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church. His wife, the former Gertrude M. Sullivan, died in 1987 and a daughter, Virginia A. Poudrier, in 1994. He leaves five sons, Howard and Earl, both of Bradenton, Fla., John F. of Chicopee, Richard J. of Springfield and Francis X. of Bristol, Conn.; two other daughters, Eileen T. DiSantis and Margaret M. Shea, both of Springfield; a sister, Jeannette Gibson of Springfield; 33 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday morning at Kozikowski Funeral Home of Chicopee and the church, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday evening.
