A very serious and fatal accident occurred about noon, Monday, at the V. A. Medley Motor Co. Garage, when the fly-wheel of their "burning in machine" from some unknown cause, flew to pieces, causing a great deal of damage to the building and machinery, but saddest of all, was the death of Harry B. Irish, one of our esteemable young farmers, living northeast of town, and manager of a large dairy herd of Guernseys. Mr. Irish had just stepped into the shops to ask a question of some one; he stopped in front of the fly wheel and was watching the machine work. One of the flying peices struck him in the right breast and mangled it. He also sustained a broken leg and bruises on his head and other parts of his body. Medical aid was promptly given and he was removed to the S. D. B. parsonage. His aged parents were present and Harry was able to talk to them and others, though suffering intensely. He passed away about three o'clock. Coroner Dycus was notified and when he arrived, empaneled a jury which, after viewing the body, went to the Medley garage where the hearing was held. They returned a verdick of accidental death caused by the right breast of Mr. Irish being penetrated and mangled by a piece of the bursting fly wheel of a "burning in" machine, at the Medley garage ..[copy unclear].. The body was taken to the farm home about 8:00 o'clock. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00 o'clock, at the S.D.B. church, as Mr. Irish's sister who is coming from California is expected to arrive Friday. ... Harry B. Irish was born Aug. 7, 1883 on the farm where he has always lived with his parents except several terms of school when he was in Milton, Wisconsin.
