Biography

Harry Harrison Brockway was the son of Josiah and Mary Harrington Brockway. He married Bertha Marie Timmerman and had five children: Archie Lee, Ethyl Gladys, William Carl, Everett Burr and Eva Marie.

H.H. Brockway Harry Harrison Brockway, of Mediapolis, died in Burlington hospital April 19, at 4:15 p.m. Death terminated a one-month illness. A native of Kingston, Brockway was born Dec. 11, 1870, the son of Josiah and Mary Brockway. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Everett Brockway, Mediapolis; Archie Brockway, Burlington; Willie and Mrs. Eva Fichthorn , both of Burlington route two, and Mrs. Ethel Howe, of Kingston. Also surviving are a brother, William Brockway, Muscatine, and two sisters; Mrs. Nellie Avery, New London, and Mrs. Fannie Hinson, of Burlington; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fry chapel in Mediapolis. The Rev. Lester C. McDonald, pastor of the Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in Dolbee cemetery.
