    Harriet Green

    Harriet Green was born in Chautauqua county New York April 8, 1833; when 14 years old she removed to Illinois with her parents, when 19 years old she went to Indiana; Was married to Eugene Hunt February 20, 1853, with her husband they returned to Illinois and remained in Stark Co., Illinois 18 years and in Henry county, same state 20 years. Came to Iowa in 1885, and in 1887 Mr. Hunt died: they were the parents of three children- two sons and one daughter. A son Giles Dainey died Feb. 18, 1867; Johnny Hunt died on Jan.8, 1869. The daughter, Mrs. Frank Stanley is now a resident of Stuart. Deceased had eight grandchildren and six great grand children, and is also survived by a brother, Stephen Green of Orient, Iowa. She was 89 years, 10 months, and 14 days old at the time of her death which occurred in Stuart, Iowa, at the home of her daughter, on Feb. 22, 1923. She was a consistent member of the M.E. church, but could not attend on account of infirmities. The funeral was held from the M.E. church last Sunday conducted by Rev. Smith. The burial taking place in the Menlo cemetery.
    Other surviving relatives who reside in Menlo: Mrs. John Green, granddaughter; Clint and Roe Green, nephews.
