Very little is known about Harriet (or did she go by Amanda?). 1850 was just after the Urbana pioneers had arrived in that part of Wabash County. Denning is not a recognized Urbana area surname. Also, the "colony" usually married within its own community, and Denning does not seem to be a Germanic surname. She was Peter's first wife of three. Peter was about 20 years old at this marriage. The Urbana St. Peter's Church had not been organized yet. It is not known to this compiler's research, as to what happened to her. It can be assumed that she died very soon, as Peter married his second wife three years later; but we simply do not know. Nor is there any evidence of any children. She might be buried at the site of St. Peter's Cemetery, since we know that Henry Geibel was buried there in 1854, before St. Peter's official records began (in 1861). --White Creek 11:41, 19 August 2012 (EDT) References
