Harriet Ione Blessing BLESSING Harriet Ione Harriet Ione Blessing, age 95, died Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the Mount Pleasant Retirement Center in Monroe, OH. She was born December 13, 1910, in Bradner, OH to Fredrick John Blessing and Henrietta (May (Bower) Blessing. Ione, as she was known by her family, grew up in Bradner and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in education. She specialized in physical education and taught a few years in Bradner and many years at Carthage School in the Cincinnati area. She was well known for coaching girls junior high school volleyball teams, producing many winning seasons in regional competition. She was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association and the Dorcas Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Ione is survived by a brother, Olin Blessing of Midland, Michigan and eleven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2nd at the Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, OH. Local arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
