Good ole Uncle Harold. As I look back on my youth I still remember Uncle Harold's flat top hair cut. He was a bit of a gruff person with a low scratchy voice. I can still here his voice as clear as day calling me Duke. He was the only one who called me that and there are a few stories of why but I won't get into that. He never had a harsh word and was always there to offer advice when I needed it. He was known to toss a few back now and then but I have nothing but wonderful memories of him. I remember every Christmas he would mix up a batch of Salty Dog's and I would go up to his house and he would let me have a glass. If Aunt Margaret knew he was giving me a mixed drink she would have cleaned his clock but he always did. It was only one glass but yet it was something special I always shared with him. Another odd thing I remember he caught a coyote pup and had it in a cage at their house. I am not sure what he thought he was going to do with it but as a kid it was a pretty cool thing. All things considered I was luck to have my Aunt and Uncle in walking distance from my house. Darrell Warner
