Note from Patricia J. Treadwell, a descendant of Hannabell's sister-in-law, Sallie Phipps Miller McClure, "Phipps and Hannabelle were living with my grandparents in Hawkins Co, when he died. Hannabelle stayed on with them until 1924 when my grandmother died and then left saying it was not fitting for her to be staying with my grandfather when they were not married to each other. In 1930, she can be found living in Marion Smyth Co., VA with the family of Quincy A. Calhoun, proprieter of the Marion Motor Company. She is listed as a cousin."
