  3.   Japhet clearly had a daughter named Hannah, mentioned as a minor "under the age of fourteen years" in probate documents of 1712. Source:Massachusetts, United States. Mayflower Births and Deaths shows the Pembroke birth date of 8 Sep 1702 for Hannah, d/o Japhet Turner and Hannah Hatch, who married William Thomas. However, one is tempted to question this birth date. First, the almost 4-year gap before baptism seems very long, especially since the baptism of brother Japhet in 1704 suggests there were earlier opportunities to have Hannah baptized. Then, too, for parents born in 1682, having a child in 1702 seems too early, since the father was not of legal age (21) at that time (Japhet b. 4 Jan 1682/83). The town of Pembroke was established in 1712 from a part of Duxbury so the birth record in the town records is at best a copy, at worst, recorded after the fact. On the other hand, Hannah's marriage to William Thomas in Middleborough in 1721 suggests 1702 is correct.
