Whitley County Republican, Thursday, August 20, 1942

The Meadors Reunion was held Sunday, August 16, 1942 on Ryans Creek, at the old home place, where B.H. Meadors now lives. He is the youngest son of the late James Meadors. The old house has been torn away and a new building is at the same place.
The children were all present except one, Mrs. Carrie Cornelius, who departed this life several years ago. Mr. Hamp Meadors, Ayers, KY., Mr. B.H. Meadors, Mrs. Emma Foster, Stearns, KY., Mrs. Martha Bryant, Miss Maude Meadors, Miss Addie Meadors, Whitley City, KY., Mrs Edna Lawson, Wayne County, and Lewis Meadors of Smithtown, KY., were present and a large crowd of relatives.
There was some good singing and also good preaching from Rev. John Bryant before noon. Dinner was served on the ground by the good people of the surrounding community.
The afternoon session was filled by good speackers, Reb. Frank Cornelius, Williamsburg, Ky., and Rev E.K. Chitwood, Whitley City, KY.
Rev. E.K. Chitwood, Whitley City and Roe Chitwood, Winfield, TN are conducting a series of meetings at Ryans Creek.
Little Joan Meadors who has typhoid fever is improving at this writing.

The crops sure look nice up and down this creek. We have been having plenty of rain for a while. Mr. Hobert Stephens who is employed by the Kitchen Lumber Company is spending a few days at hom, attending the church services

NOTES: B H is Benjamin Harrison

    Hamp is Hampton Sylvester
