Of three children there was only one son, Hampton Lawrence CARSON, who was born February 21, 1852, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1871, was admitted to the Philadelphia bar April 4, 1874, and has ever since been conspicuous as a legal practitioner, lecturer and author: finally attaining to the high post of attorney general of the commonwealth, 1903-1907. Previously, and for years he was professor of the law of contracts and sales in the law department of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is also the author of a number of important works of recognized ability, mainly of a professional character, as follows: "Law of Criminal Conspiracies." "History of the Celebration of the One Hundredth Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Constitution of the United States." "History of the Supreme Court of the United States." and other erudite productions of equal significance. Residence, 1033 Spruce Street.
Mr. CARSON married Anna Lea BAKER, and has a number of children, the only married one being Mrs. Evan RANDOLPH (nee Hope CARSON), Chestnut Hill. ...
