  4. 4.0 4.1 4.2 4.3 The difference between the two sources of information regarding dates of birth and death seem to be by one year, probably almost exactly. Although the gravestone is a derivative source for birth and death dates, it appears to have been created at or near the time of death, making it much closer in time than later reports, and tentatively more reliable. Spacing in birth order of siblings would support either birth year.
