Grren Smith Rasberry, who married Luritty Angelina Rasberry, was the son of Green Rasberry and Rebecca Barrett, and the grandson of Thomas Madison Rasberry. So a granddaughter of Green Rasberry and a grandson of his brother, Thomas Madison Rasberry married each other. This information furnished by Mitchelene Shaddix, the granddaughter of Luritty Angelina and Green Smith Rasberry.

Joined Company F & H of the 4th Regiment Kentucky Mounted Infantry (U. S. A.)
I certify, on honor, that Green S. Rasberry, a Private of Captain Sylvester Rockwell Company H of the 4th Regiment of Kentucky Mounted Infantry Volunteers (U. S. A.), of the State of Kentucky, born in Bibb County, State of Alabama, aged 24 years; 5 feet 9 inches high; light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer, who joined for service and was enrolled (see Note 9) on the 1st day of March, 1864, at Camp Nelson, Kentucky by A. P. Merrill, for the period of three years, and mustered into the service of the United States as a Recruit on the 14th day of April, 1864, at Louisville, Kentucky, by Captain Thompson; and having served Honestly and Faithfully with his Company to the day of his death reported as the 1st of January 1865 at Andersonville Prison, Georgia and is now entitled to Discharge by reason of his death.
The said Green S. Rasberry...due pay and bounty...Given in Duplicate, at Macon, Georgia, 19th day of July 1865. Signed Sylvester Rockwell, Capt. Co. H, Commanding Company.
The reported death of this man while prisoner of War is Cancelled. He was on September 19, 1881, a resident of Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama. The records afford no information in this mans case subsequent to his capture July 29, 1864.
Green S. Rasberry, was Captured in July 29, 1864 and became a prisoner of war. In April 1865, he failed to rejoin his command after his escape from confinement from Andersonville Prison, Georgia. He thereby became, constructively a deserter from on or about May 1st of 1865. This charge of desertion is removed and he is discharged to date May 1, 1865, under the prisoners of the Act of Congress approved March 2, 1889. Discharge Certificate furnished by War Dept. June 2, 1890.
