MRS. GLADYS RHODEA DIES IN MUSKEGON
Mrs. Gladys Platt Rhodea, 68, of Muskegon, died Thursday afternoon at Hackley Hospital, after a two-day illness. She was born in Coopersville, March 8, 1890, daughter of William and Harriet Platt and spent her early years there and went to Muskegon in 1916. She moved to Grand Rapids in 1948 and two years later returned to Muskegon. She was married to Fred Elbers in 1916 in Coopersville, who died February 21, 1940. Seven years later she was married to Michael Rhodea in Muskegon, who died August 18, 1956.
Mrs. Rhodea leaves a daughter, Mrs. Phillip Brondyke; her twin sister, Mrs. Goldie Winkle; two step-sons, Howard and Delmar Rhodea of Muskegon; two step-daughters, Mrs. Frieda Nearanz of Muskegon and Mrs. Janita Wazney of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Phyllis, Donna and Kenneth Brondyke, and a niece, Harriet Winkle.
Funeral services were held from the Lee Funeral Home and burial was in Coopersville cemetery.
