Facts and Events
Shortly after Dorothy was born in 1919, Gladys filed a paternity suit against Harry Bogdonoff in an effort to obtain financial support for their child. He may have paid for awhile, then stopped. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Around this time (although he was still in Lowell, MA for the 1920 census), H. Bogdonoff travelled to Australia where he met and married Mary Ivy Grogan. Unable to raise Dorothy on her own, Gladys found foster parents through the help of a neighbor. (See notes for Dorothy.) Gladys never married. She retained a relationship with her daughter until her (Gladys') death in about 1981. 1930: Gladys is living with her parents, Fred W. Ireland and his wife Eva E. She is single, working as a clerk in a "hose mill." References
