Gladys E. Gipe, 88, of Fremont passed away Sunday morning at her home.

She was born in Lindsey to Adam and Florence (Bauer) Eversole. On June 29, 1954, she married Robert Gipe, who preceded her in death. Gladys earned her Masters Degree in Christian Education and was a missionary who was dedicated to serving Christ in all aspects of her life. She served in China and the Philippines. She was an artist who loved to paint and make crafts with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed music and loved her grandchildren. Gladys was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church where she was an active member in many circles.

Surviving are daughters: Divina (Rick) Spies of Plano, Texas, Carole (Myren) Kohlhorst of Highland, Mich., Patty Banta of White Lake, Mich., and daughter-in-law, Anne Gipe of Fremont; grandchildren Abbey, Bobby, David, Derek, Rob, Patrick, Holly, Dana, Cindy, Teresa, Chris and Craig; sister Martha Brooks of North Richfield, OH and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Gipe on April 9, 1992 and son Mark Gipe, on June 11, 2006, brothers; John Eversole, James Eversole, and Ralph Eversole and sister, Mary Powers.

Visitation: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Denise Turpin officiating.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, Scott Trinity United Methodist Church, Red Bird Mission or United Methodist Corp of Relief.
