    "Gervase/JarvisB Umfreville of Ewell, county Surrey, was born say 1570 and died probably at Ewell before 1634. He was married in about 1600 to Katherine Digby, daughter of John Digby of Ravenstone, county Derby. It can be inferred that he owned a large house in Ewell in which he kept an inn, since his apparent widow Katherine Umfreville was keeping the inn at Ewell in 1636, where she probably died after 1641. [Simon] Segar's [undocumented] Umfreville genealogy … states that John Umfreville was Gervase's eldest son."
