Gertie moved after 1986 death of #2 husband, Buck Redshaw, from DM to 758 S. 16th #32, Blair, NE 68008 (near Omaha and her son, Billie Stouffer). Pho.=(402) 426-8653. There were no children to Buck and Gertie. Notice that Gertie and her brother, Franklin Harry Braught married sibling Stouffers (Charles and Vera) within two yrs. of each other. Gertie helped with this family collection, particularly in the 1960s (see photos, etc. in files). Her help has been deeply appreciated and she is indeed very dear to my heart for the lovely lady that she is to everyone. Gertie retired from Anderson-Erickson Diary. 12 Feb. 2002 I phoned Gertie to advise her of Leona (Lonie) Brunk Braught's death last week. She said that Dotie (Dorothy Green) had just hung up from advising her. She said that her brother Cortes and his wife Gertrude were doing well; but that her sister Esther Fleenor is in bad condition at an Indianola, IA nursing home. Gertie is getting around fine with a walker or cane and feeling quite good at that time. Jan. 2, 2003 letter from Billy and Lois Stouffer (9747 Flying Cotton Loop #23, Blair, NE 68008) included letter and items regarding Gertie's passing at Blair Crowell Memorial Home 19 Oct. 2002; burial at Des Moines, IA Laurel Hill Cemetery (likely next to husband Buck Redshaw). She was survived by her son; one brother (Cortes in CA) and one sister (Esther in Indianola, IA)Casket bearers and honorary casket bearers were Craig and Johhny Redshaw; Larry Larpenter; Gayland and Martin Stouffer. Her obituary was in the Blair newspaper and in the Des Moines Register. Gertie told me that she was a member of Grant Park Church in Des Moines, baptised there June 12, 1977 (same date that second husband, Buck, was baptised there). 1925 Des Moines, IA City Directory shows Gertrude R. Braught, empl Rollins Hosiery Mills residing at 2630 Dean Av (with her parents there). In 1932 the Des Moines Directory shows her sister-in-law Gertrude A. working at this business (this Gertrude R Braught is not shown as a Braught so I need to check on her as Mrs. Charles Stouffer then).
