Aunt Georgia deserved the home since she was the one who worked so hard to buy it from the previous owners. The family the Moorheads bought 230 North Eighth Street from had owned it since Civil War times and was quite attached to it. Georgia managed to collect the proper signatures from all over the United States by the time Harry and Mary celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and presented the paid in full mortgage to them as an anniversary gift. They had lived in that house as renters since 1929. The only mortgage payment was a token $1.00 to the sellers.
