George Wilson: Biographical Information

George Wilson was the son of Ellen Wilson. He was born about 1858. Ellen, age 40, opened a Freedmen's Bank account in Charleston, South Carolina on April 13, 1870. On her application, she stated that she was born and raised on Drayton Hall Plantation, Ashley River, Charleston, South Carolina. Her Freedmen's Bank record contains more information about Ellen and her family:

She, her husband Lawrence and son George, age 12, were living in Charleston on Gadsden Street, near Bull Street. Ellen's occupation was Washing.
