    Published in the Carleton Messenger on July 3, 1922 - Died Suddenly - The funeral of George Webster, who died suddenly at his home in Ash Center on Friday evening was held at the Ash Center Evangelical church on Mon at 1.30pm. At the time he was taken ill, Mr.Webster was doing his chores & was discovered by his wife who called the assistance of neighbors. Heart failure was the cause of his death. The deceased was about 70yrs of age and had spent a great many years in Ash Township, being a son of one of the early pioneer families. He leaves a wife.

Deceased was born at Grafton, Monroe Co., MI on Aug 5, 1852. Besides his widow, deceased leaves 3 brothers - Charles E. of Detroit, Frank B. of Toledo, OH and Daniel D. of Ash Center; 1 sister, Mary E. Jackson also of Ash Center; 9 nephews and 7 nieces, several grand nieces & nephews and cousins. Deceased was a faithful Christian, a good man, a respected citizen and a true & faithful husband. He was a member of the M.E.church for many years, supreintendent of the Sunday School at the Ash Center church and teacher Emeritus of the bible class at the time of his death. Funeral services at the Ash Center church on Mon Jul 3rd at 2pm. Burial at Grafton Cemetery, the Rev.Mr.Young officiating.
