Camden Advance, 23 Dec 1875: CARTERVILLE, Dec. 15th 1875-- George Skerritt, a young man who resides with his parents near Carterville, is a very successful hunter and trapper. During October and November he shot and sent to market 36 pairs of partridges, 50 pigeons, 15 wild ducks, 10 meadow larks, 5 rabbits and 4 foxes, and has trapped and sold 5 coons, 1 otter, 25 skunks and 15 minks... During the year he has also caught 200 muskrats... for which he has received something over $150.

Baldwinsville Gazette & Farmers' Journal, 4 Feb 1926: DEATHS SKERRITT-- At his home, 42 Downer ST, Friday, January 29, 1926, George Skerritt, aged 73 years, 2 months and 2 days. Funeral services were held at the house Monday afternoon... Rev. Frederick W. Fuess officiating. The body was placed in Riverview vault to be removed to Camden NJ [!] later. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida Collins Skerritt; by two sons, Floyd of this village and Howard of Syracuse; also one grandson, Floyd Jr.
