BIOGRAPHY: Sias, George Webster, broker, b. Ossipee NH Mar. 2, 1866; s. George B. and Martha H (Fogg) Sias; ed. Boston public schools and Boston Commercial College; m. June 9, 1895 to Ottilie M. Ebbingham; conducted cigar and newspaper business in Quincy House in Boston for 10 years; in 1888 invented Universal street sweeping machine and sold three machines to City of Boston; in 1907 bought Valdez Creek Mining Co. and since then has acquired about 5000 acres on Valdez Creek, Alaska where there is a large quantity of gold; Pres. of Valdez Creek Placer Mines; mem. Joseph Warren Blue Lodge Masons; St Paul's Chapter, Boston Commandery, Alleppo Temple and Mystic Shrine.
