Robert BROOKE married George's sister Elizabeth in 1856. 1855 - Farmer, living in South Lopham when he married. Age given as 21 but, as in other cases at this time in the register, this is believed to indicate only that he was of age. Anna Maria's age was also recorded as 21. 1861 - With wife, daughter and a servant (Rhoda HOLDEN, general servant, aged 18, born at South Lopham) at Wood Road, South Lopham, Norfolk. Farmer of 156 acres, employing 6 men and 5 boys. Aged 37, born at North Lopham, Norfolk. 1863 - Listed in Harrod's Directory as a farmer in South Lopham. 1870 - Burial: George WHARTON ROLFE, aged 45. Died 21.1.1870, aged 45, according to M I as recorded by a family member. However, the probate calendar entry records death 27 January 1870 at South Lopham, farmer. Will proved at Norwich on 18 March 1870, by Anna Maria ROLFE, widow. |
