DIVORCE INFORMATION: 1.)Mamie Haney 23 Oct 1893, Mound City, Pulaski, IL. 2.)New Albany Daily Ledger,1 Dec 1897 P4 C4, Lily Rakestraw has filed a suit for divorce in curcuit court against William Rakestraw and ask custody of William age 3 and Charles M. age 1 year, born of the marriage. Married Jan 14, 1893 and lived together until April last. She was forced to leave on account of his cruel and inhuman treatment. Also failure to provide is alleged. Note - She drops the suit 14 Mar 1899 (a few weeks after daughter, Louise is born). 24 May 1899, William Rakestraw through attorneys Kelso and Kelso has filed his petition for divorce from Lillian Rakestraw to whom he was married in April 1893 and with whom he lived until April 1897 when he alleges she abandoned him and has refused to return to him.
