GEO. F. PETERS PASSED AWAY FRIDAY JUNE 21

Funeral Services Were Held Sunday at The Methodist Church

George Fredrick, son of Fredrick H. and Christina Peters, was born near Findley, Ohio, February 25, 1862, being 78 years, 3 months and 27 days of age at the time of his passing at 7:00 a .m., June 21, 1940. He came with his parents to Missouri, when quite young, where he has since resided. On July 6, 1884 he was united in marriage with Mary V. Fowler. To this union was born three sons and two daughters, the wife and four children, Frederick George, Roy Allen, Anna May a nd Lillian Christina, preceded him in death. On August 25, 1914 he was married to Stella Kil le who with one son, Guy L. Peters, survive. He is also survived by two brothers, William H. , of Garnett, Kan., and Amos W., of Chicago, Ill., twelve grandchildren.

He wnited with the Methodist church, Browning, many years ago where he has been a regular att endant, being a members of the offical board at the time of his death. He was an honest an d highly respected citizen, living a varied and active life.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducte d by the pastor, Rev. O.V. Ethington, in the presence of a large croud of sorrowing relative s and friends, Musci was furnished by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Adams and Mr. an d Mrs. Roy Calhoun with Mrs. Joe Nevins at the piano. The songs were: There Will be no Tear s in Paradise, and Lead Me Gently Home. REv. Ethington sang, There Is a Land Beyond The Rive r. Pall bearers: Elmer Peters, Lester Peters, Earl Peters, Wesley Peters, John Allen Marti n and Carroll Hairfield. Two small grandsons, Billy and Geo. Lynn Peters, were honorary pal l bearers. Flower girls were: Leona Peters, Imogene Peters, Reta Peters and Ruth Arnold. A. J. River, Funeral Director, had charge, Interment was made in the Hoover cemetery.

Burial was in the Hoover Cemetery nw of Browning, MO.
