    MILLER, George Henry "Bing"
    August 12, 1911 - October 8, 1997

Retired C/Supt. (Chief Superintendent) G.H. Miller passed away at the age of 86 at the Ottawa General Hospital after a brief illness. Raised on a farm near Lipton, Saskatchewan, he pitched semi-professional baseball. The flip of a coin aided his decision to leave baseball behind and join the RCMP. A long and varied career, which included time in the Musical Ride, service in fice provinces and in Germany, led eventually to retirement in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. The beauty of the east coast inspired him to pursue yet another successful career in oil painting. In 1982 he moved to Ottawa. Much loved husband for 45 years of the late Eleanor Frances (Fleming) of Minnedosa, Manitoba. Father of <names of living individuals have been removed.> Predeceased by his parents John and Katherine Miller, brothers John (Lillian), Fort Qu'Appelle and Bill (Lipton), sister Eva (Albert) Serfas, Medicine Hat and brother-in-law Bob Forbes, Choiceland. Survived by sisters <names of living individuals have been removed>, and many nieces and nephews. Among those left to remember him are his long time friends Bud and Dee Barber, Nepean and Lydie Watson, Edmonton, a dear friend whose renewed acquaintance and gentle correspondence brightened his final years. A special farewell from his devoted buddies Daisy and Kasha with whom he passed so many hours of quiet companionship. A private service was held on October 10, 1997, followed by cremation and interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. For those who wish to make memorial donations, gifts to the Cancer Society, Alzeimer Society or Salvation Army would be appreciated.
