    In Ward, Allegany Co., N. Y., May 14th, 1863, of heart disease, George Maxson, in the 60th year of his age. Bro. Maxson was an old and honored citizen, having settled in the country at an early day, and by his life won the esteem and confidence of his fellow citizens. He had long been a member of the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred, by whom his death will be severely felt. He was a man of unusual power of mind, and was sincerely devoted to the cause of Christ. Both his funeral and that of Nathan H. Allen, were attended Sabbath, May 16th, at Alfred Center, by a large concourse of people.
