    Jack Mason, 711 Fremont, died at his home Saturday evening. He was born May 19, 1872 in London, England and came to this country when he was 12 years old. He had been a resident since 1936. Mason was a member of the First Methodist Church.
    He is survived by his wife; three step children, Ernest Rhoades of Topeka, Mrs. Vernon Ward of Wichita and Clara Rhoades of the home.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues., in the Courser Chapel with Rev. B. A. Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery.

    Jack's mother was Sarah Mason. She was an orator in London and wrote a book called LIFE OF SARA MASON. He and his wife rented a place from and worked for Ernest and Alice near Coffeyville, KS. Before the war he worked in the shipyard at San Pedro, CA. He was a WPA supervisor at Fort Riley and visited Alice in Manhattan. He became unable to take care of himself, married Alice and then lived in Manhattan.
