Andrew Michael Gambol to Shawna Gambol Woodard, January 2023: We called him Uncle Bud or Uncle Buddy. Aunt Marge's husband worked in a steel mill. He was an excellent baker, making things like poppy seed rolls and nut rolls and other dishes that Eastern Europeans make. When Aunt Marge would visit Mom, Uncle Bud would send me a batch of his desserts (just for me, not my brothers and sisters). I don't know why he seemed to take a shine to me, but we got along. A few times he took me to work with him at the mill. We took the trolley. His job was moving large pipes around. He was always at least a little buzzed if not totally drunk, including before, during and after work. His drunken outbursts led to a poor relationship with his two children. For some reason he treated me better than he treated them.
