RESIDENCES: Came to Grant Co., Indiana iin 1832 from Giles Co., Virginia. History of Grant County (1914) says he settled on Lugar Creek (named for him), Grant County, Indiana in 1828, settling on land he purchased from the government (first to file in Monroe Township for government land on 18 May 1833), one of the first settlers in Grant County. He voted in an election held in Monroe Twp., Grant, Indiana the first Tuesday of 1852.
