[GE]ORGE MARSHALL KENDALL MARCH 4, 1863 AUGUST 5, 1936
- ↑ The 1880, 1900, 1920 and 1930 censuses lists his birthplace as Illinois, while the 1910 says Indiana. The 1900 census gives his birth as Mar 1863. The 1880 and 1900 censuses are believed more reliable since he was living with his mother at the time, and his father died in Kankakee, IL, in 1871, which is the birth location given by his obituary. An unsourced IGI submission says 4 Mar 1863 in Otto, Kankakee, Indiana, but this probably means Otto Township, Kankakee, Illinois, as Otto, Indiana is in Clark County, nowhere near where the family was known to live.
