A well known business identity and resident of Bathurst, Mr. George Horan, died at a Willoughby private hospital yesterday afternoon, following a heart attack. The late Mr.Horan, who came to Bathurst from the Newcastle district about 25 years ago, entered the garage business on arrival here with his brother, Mr. Jack Horan, trading under the name of Horan Bros. The partnership continued until several months ago when it was dissolved, the late Mr. Horan carrying on alone. Deceased, who was a former alderman of Bathurst, took an active interest in municipal and public affairs. Until his affliction with rheumatism some years ago causing him to become a semi-invalid he was a keen supporter of sporting activities, being himself a prominent tennis player. He struggled against his infirmity, and until several weeks ago when he was forced to enter hospital, actively participated in the management of his garage. He is survived by his widow, and a brother, Mr. J. Horan.
