Firestine, George A.

George A. Firestine, 91, of Tobyhanna, died Thursday, Aug. 5, at Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Ester E. (Emes) Firestine.

Born in Helmetta, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Anna (Bush) Firestine.

Before his retirement, George was employed by the Dupont Co. in Parlin, N.J., for over 30 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Vacchio and Marie Lynch, both of Tobyhanna; two brothers, John Firestine of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donald Firestine of Whiting, N.J.; one sister, Sophie Clark of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, George R. Firestine.

The Reverend Dr. Ruth Ziedonis will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery in Paradise Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Preferred Choice, 749 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
