George Brook was a stonemason, sang tenor, was short in stature and always wore a beard. His uncle, Titus Brooke, who was married to Sarah Worsnop. In 1871 he was boarder in his Aunt Sarah's younger brother, Joseph Worsnop's house at 78 Jacob Street, Horton, Bradford and it seems he moved the family often as he followed work. Living Wilson Road, Wyke 1881. I’ve been told his initials or his mark or whatever are carved into some stone buildings on Manchester Road, Bradford. He died of Silicosis, a hazard of his career, I suppose. |
