George A. Bailey, merchant, farmer and stock dealer, was born July 4, 1846, on his present farm. When eighteen he began for himself, and now owns 280 acres, besides other lands, and a stock of goods. November 8, 1866, he married Mary A., a daughter of William and Eliza (Armitage) Reed, natives of Greene County. Their children were Ninnie L., Willie R., Thomas K. (deceased), Florence B., Alexander H., Martha H. (deceased) and Carrie E. (twins), John M., Bessie M., Lura L. and George B. Both are Methodists, and he is a Republican, and a Master Mason.
