Frieda R. Beckhusen

Frieda R. Beckhusen, 87, of 5165 SR 635 Fostoria, died at 1:38 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at her residence.

Frieda was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Boone, Mich., to the late Clayton C. and Blanche M. (Mercer) Huss. On Oct. 28, 1937, in Oregon, OH, she married Paul H. Beckhusen who preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1968. Other survivors include her two children, Paula R. (Don) Niederhauser of Oregon, and Herbert T. (Shirley) Beckhusen of Coldwater, Mich. Also, there are seven grandchildren, Donella, Doreen, Dawn, Robin, Paul, Eric and Neil; and 24 great-grandchildren who survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by a sister, Katharyn Wunderly.

Frieda sold Sarah Coventry for 12 years. She was a graduate of Clay High School class of 1936 in Oregon, OH. She was a member of the Mayflower Society, Colonial Dames, Santa Club, Sandusky River Valley Doll Club and CO Extension Homemakers.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Amsden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Gray Staats and the Rev. Mark Kuhlman officiating. There will be no burial or visitation at this time.

The Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Bettsville is in charge of the arrangements.
