BIOGRAPHY: `Fred Spencer owned 2 vintage Rolls Royces. He was a plumber by trade and wasquite a character.. He owned two old cottages at 25-27 Lorne Street, Te Aro, Wellington. One of the cottages was more like a museum, housing a collection of old photographic equipment and musical instruments. There were lots of cameras - photography was obviously a hobby - he even made colour home movies (quite new inthose days). I remember seeing several old phonographs. I think Fred played aninstrument, possibly the violin`
