Fred took over the family farm when his father was told to quit farming for his health, so he did not get to go to college. His younger brother George did go to college. He went to work for the Carnation Milk Company and moved to Colorado. Gearge Jr. came back to Il to college, became a doctor at Wesley Memorial. Gearge married Helen and had 2 children, George, Jr. and Fannnie (Judy) who stayed in CO. Fred's sister, Helen, also went to college and taught high school in Clinton, Il where she met and married Bruce Wood. They have one child, Ralph Wood. After Bruce died, Helen moved back to live in small house behind her parents in Libertyville.

Several years later, the farm was sold and Fred went to Racine where Edith was born. Next Fred went to work for Sam Insell, in charge of his dairy cattly. They live on Town LIne Road in Libertyville where Bob was born . After Insell crashed, Fred went to work for Abbott Labs and they moved into the house on Brainerd Ave. He worked for Abbott Labs until his retirement.

After retirement, Fred and Grace built a house out Park Ave. Bob lived only a block away. They were able to enjoy Bob and Linda (Hess) boys, Christopher and Brian.

After Grace's death in 1960, Fred kept company with Bess , marrying her in 1964? They later moved to Hot SPrings, Arkansas where they lived until they died.
