Subject: Smola

Posted by: craig srna Message: The Josephine Smola that Barb is referring to was born in 1866 and came to Pittsburgh around 1884. In 1885 she married Andrew Srna and moved to Kansas. In 1888 Andrew died and she went back to Pittsburg and married Frank Sponer in 1890 at St. Wencelaus. Josie's father's name was Frank Smola. Frank Smola also came to Kansas and is listed in the census of 1895 (living with Josie & Frank). However the mother must of died back east as no record of her exist in the state censue. In 1895 Frank Smola (who was 54 in 1895) re-married a lady named Anna Leucht and moved somewhere. I have not been able to find any info on him after his marriage in 1895. When Josie died in 1945 she still had 3 sisters living in Pittsburg (names unknown).
