- His birth date given on the interment list for Morris Cemetery is "Nov 25 1868." However, per the Bible record, he was born one year earlier, so that is what has been used for his birth date above.
- Although the interment list transcribes the name as Frances M. (which would lead one to believe this person was a female), I established that this person is male from the 1870 & 1880 census records. Thus, I have spelled his name "Francis," which is the common male spelling of the name. He was probably more often called Marion, since that is the sole name listed for him in the Jemima Martin Bible... and also how he is listed on the 1870 & 1880 census records. As an interesting side note, his sister Cora married Francis Marion Simmons! (He was a few years older than her brother.)
