Person:Francis Hawley (1)

According to the Hawley Record, pp. 4-5, Francis Hawley was first married to Ann, daughter of John and Sarah Titterton (Titherton) Clark. However, Jacobus, in Old Fairfield, 1:145, indicates that this Ann Clark, born 31 August 1709 at Stratford, married Samuel Judson and died there 14 March 1729 at the age of 19. A further complication, which brings doubt to Jacobus' conclusion, is the entry in the Stratford vital records which states that Samuel Judson married Ann Clark of Milford. Mrs. Abbott's Milford Families, p. 206, states that Ann Clark, daughter of Samuel and Mehitabel (Phippen) (Ford) Clark, born 30 June 1709 at Milford, is the Ann who married Samuel Judson.
