Flora D. Stephens, 75, died at her home, 322 N.E. 16th, Friday evening.
Mrs. Stephens was born Feb. 18, 1914 at Groesevenor, Texas. She was the daughter of Charlie and Lillie Pence.
She married Clouse Stephens July 27, 1934 at Tempe, Ariz. Mr. Stephens preceded her in death in October 1988.
The Stephens family had made their home southeast of Hardesty until their retirement when they moved to Guymon.
Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was a devoted quilt maker. She donated many of her quilts to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of the Balko Apostolic Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Lamanda) Hammonds of Belton, Texas; three sons, Owen Stephens and Thomas (Tom) Stephens, both of Guymon and Melvin Stephens of Rawlins, Wyo.; five sisters, Venor Brady, Jewell George and Eula Sowders, all of Roswell, N.M., Linzie Griffith of Mesquite, N.M. and Ruby Belvin of Artesia, N.M.; four brothers, Boyd Griffin and Henry Griffin, both of Lovington, N.M., Frank Griffin of Bridge Port, Texas, and John Griffin of Paradise, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, Pence Mary Brady, Myrtle Herrington, Beulah Brackeen and Cleo Lois; two grandchildren, Don Allen Stephens and Laerisha Diane Earls.
A Flora Stephen memorial has been established for Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Memorials will be accepted at the Henson Funeral Home.
