Everett D. Dilworth Jr., 43, stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base, andformer layout Lorain, was killed Monday night in a one car accident inNorfolk. The Norfolk police officers said a hitchhiker passenger inDilworth's car, Milton Taylor, 18, a sailor from North Carolina, wasseriously injured in the accident. The Dilworth was pronounced dead atthe scene of the accident, Portsmouth Naval hospital personnel said.Dilworth apparently lost control of his car and occur, struck a curband then hit a traffic light pole at about 5:30 PM Monday. BoatswainDilworth, a 24 year may be career man, was planning to retire inSeptember. Note from Kris: Boatswain is A warrant officer or pettyofficer in charge of a ship's rigging, anchors, cables, and deck crew.He had worked at the A and P Store, South Broadway, (go to p4 col2)Lorain before entering service. Dilworth's wife, Edna, died September24, 1964. Surviving are three daughters, Judy Lynn, Bobby Sue andPamela Lee and a son, David Allen, all of Portsmouth, Va.; his mother,Mrs. Frank Sipkovsky, Lorain; three brothers, Richard Dilworth with theAir Force stationed at Minot, North Dakota, Robert Dilworth, Barbertonand Dale Dilworth, Akron; a stepbrother, Frank Sipkovsky, Lorain andthree sisters, Mrs. Doris Denger, South Amherst, Mrs. Patty Holcomb andMrs. Connie Schnitzler, both of Lorain. Funeral arrangements will bemade by the Reichlin Cooley funeral home, Lorain."
