  2. A Native Daughter of Barton County

    Mrs. Eva Lena Williams, seventy-seven years old wife of Levi Williams of this city, died at the Memorial Hospital, at 12:35 a.m. Thursday. In failing health for several years, her condition became a critical one, Wednesday and she was admitted to the hospital at 3:20 p.m.

    The seventy seven-year-old woman was a native daughter and lifetime resident of Barton County. She was born in the Milford community, March 1, 1888, the daughter of Jacob D Rector and Cynthia Hackney Rector.

    She was married at Milford November 22, 1908 to Levi Williams. The couple resided in the Milford neighborhood, engaging in farming in their earlier married life. They moved to Lamar twenty two years ago. The deceased, until illness overtook her, was an active member in the Rebekah lodge and in the Rebekah social circle.

    She leaves her husband of the home with three sons, Everett Williams of Nevada, Jason Williams of Iantha, Chester Williams of Indio, California, and four daughters, Mrs. Lola Bradley of Lamar, Mrs. Attalene Ward of Torrence, California and Mrs. Delilah Judkins of Kansas City, one brother, Ernest Rector of Lamar, two sisters, Mrs. Bess McClure and Miss Rhoda Jane Rector of Lamar, sixteen grandchildren, also survive, one son, Otis preceded her in death.

    The body was taken to the Bruce Konantz Funeral Home to be prepared for burial. The last rites were announced for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Konantz Chapel. Interment follows in St. James Cemetery near Milford.
