BURLINGTON — Mrs. Etta Montgomery Lewis Coble, 91, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 10:51 a.m. following declining health since January 9, 2007. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Freeman L. Montgomery and Rosa A. Montgomery, both deceased. She was retired from Baker-Cammack Hosiery. Survivors include her son, Thurman L. Montgomery and wife, Linda, of Burlington; one grandson, Freeman Alonzo Montgomery; one granddaughter, Deanna M. Catlett and husband, Chucky; three greatgrandchildren, Darren J. Catlett, Dustyn Wynn, and Angel Catlett; one brother, George Winfred Montgomery of High Point, N.C.; and 11 nieces and nephews, which she loved dearly. She was the beloved wife of Arthur D. Lewis, deceased, for 45 years with whom she raised two nephews as their own. One of which, George "Buddy" W. Montgomery Jr., preceded them in death. She spent four wonderful years as the wife of Joseph A. Coble, deceased. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gelina Qualls Couch; and two brothers, Herman Montgomery and James Montgomery. The funeral will be conducted in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 this evening, and at other times her family will be at the home place, 2128 Carolina Mill Road, Burlington, N.C., residence of Deanna and Chucky Catlett.
