RIDGEWOOD - Mrs. Ethel M. Raffetto, 77, of 145 Ackerman Ave., died yesterday in the Valley Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Staten Island, N. Y., she was a resident of Ridgewood for over 50 years. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Rosary Altar Society, Mt. St. Andrew Guild, Mt. Carmel Guild, the League of Women Voters, Midland Park Senior Citizens, and the Ridgewood Democratic Club. Her husband, Mario J. Raffetto, died in 1945.

Survivors include five children, Mrs. Robert E. (Jean) Branigan of Waldwick, Louis J. Raffetto of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Howard (Irene) Silverman of Pittsfield, Mass., James D. Raffetto of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Peter M. Raffetto of the village. Also one sister, Mrs. Charles O;Connell of Peekskill, N. Y., a bother, Philip Reddy of Pittsburgh, Pa., 23 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A requiem mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mr. Carmel R. C. Church. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
