[edit] Obit excerpts for Estavilla Hannah (Moore) HetrickMrs. Estavilla "Esta-V" Hannah (Moore) Hetrick, wife of Martin Luther Hetrick, of Hormtown, Jefferson County, PA, died at her home on Wednesday, April 2, 1924, at the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 15 days. She was born April 17, 1850, to James Lindsey/Lindsay Moore (1819-1901) and Sarah (Rogers) Moore (1819-1892). Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Moore (1790-1877), Veteran of War of 1812, and Margaret (Eakins) Moore (1799-1850) of Jefferson County, PA. Maternal grandparents were Uriah Rogers (1790-1878), Veteran of War of 1812, and Hannah (Rogers) Rogers (1797-1861) of Elk County, PA. The entire life of Mrs. Hetrick had been spent in the community in which she passed away, and she possessed, not only a very wide circle of relatives, but scores of friends who will mourn her passing to eternity. On February 5, 1871, she was united in marriage to Martin Luther Hetrick, a member of another prominent pioneer family in that section. Together they carved out for themselves a home in the wilderness, and their union remained unbroken for fifty-three years. To them were born twelve children, five of whom preceeded the mother in death, Walter Hetrick (1886-1890), Perry T. Hetrick (b. & d. 1890), Lavina Hetrick (1876-1879), Minnie Hetrick (1888-1905), and Katherine "Kate" Sally (Hetrick) MacDonald (1882-1922) and her husband, William MacDonald (1870-1919), White River, Melette County, SD. Her parents and grandparents, her sisters, Martha Jane (Moore) Thompson (1846-1918), wife of Prochorus Thompson, Mary L. (Moore) Hetrick (1846-1923), wife of David Adam Hetrick of Falls Creek, Jefferson County, PA, brothers, Manfred Miles Moore (1841-1922), Andrew Uriah Moore (1852-1920), Melvin K. Moore (1848-1849), Orlando Moore (1838-1841), Ferdinand B. Moore (1839-1841), and Walter Wheeler Moore (1858-1859), and son-in-law, William C. Wayland (1864-1913, Seattle, King County, WA), husband of Eleanora Elizabeth (Hetrick) Wayland, granddaughter, Margaret Ida MacDonald (1904-1914), and grandson, Albert MacDonald (1909-1919), both of Melette County, SD, also predeceased her. Sisters, Estavilla Hannah Moore and Mary L. Moore, married brothers, Martin Luther Hetrick and David Adam Hetrick, both sons of Peter Hetrick and Catherine (Himes) Hetrick. Her sisters, Martha Jane (Moore) Thompson and Mary L. (Moore) Hetrick, were twins, born January 6, 1846. Her husband, Martin Luther Hetrick, her children, Mrs. Eleanora "Nora" Elizabeth (Hetrick) Wayland (1872-1939) widow of the late William C. Wayland, James Albert Hetrick (1876-1963) and his wife, Minerva Jane (Williams) Hetrick (1881-1954), Deemer's Cross Roads, Charles Alexander Hetrick (1877-1960), and his wife, Margaret Elmira (Boyer) Hetrick (1883-1942), Lindsey "Lynn" Peter Hetrick (1880-1959), husband of Mary Louise "Lula" (Thompson) Hetrick, both of Hormtown, Jefferson County, PA, Mrs. Cloe Emily (Hetrick) Egger (1884-1936), and her husband, Christian Albert Egger (1882-1962) of Arnold, Westmoreland County, PA, Clarence George Washington Hetrick (1892-1957), and his wife, Martha Mary (Simpson) Hetrick (1902-2000) of Leechburg, Allegheny County, PA, and Mrs. Ethel M. (Hetrick) McKinney (1894-1961), and her husband, Raymond W. McKinney (1886-1970) of Gibsonia, Allegheny County, PA, 35 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Malvina (Moore) Perrin (1843-1937), wife of Ephraim Perrin, of Hazen, PA, brothers, James McConnell Moore (1855-1941) of Aline, Oklahoma, and Alvin Burton Moore (1860-1934) of Kansas, survived her. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. R L Leatherman, pastor of the Lutheran Church, were held at the late home of the deceased in Hormtown, Jefferson County, PA, Saturday afternoon, April 5, 1924.
