Mr. Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 2, in Jasper. He was born Feb. 9, 1913, to Clarence and Annie Jackson in the Salty community. Mr. Jackson was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force, serving in North Africa and Italy. He worked for the Coca-Cola Co. before going into the insurance business. He worked for Southwestern Life Insurance Co. until his death. Mr. Jackson attended the Salty reunions until his health became such that he could not travel. Survivors are his wife, Ruby Jackson of Jasper; a son, James Beard of Spring; two sisters, Ruby "Frecks" McClain of Sacramento, CA, and Carol Stubbs of Austin; also, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
